Leah Strickland was a compassionate and driven young woman who gave her full effort to everything she pursued. She held herself to a high standard, not only as an honors student at Herbert Hoover High School, but in every aspect of her life. That dedication carried into athletics, where she earned recognition in soccer, running, swimming, and beyond. Her determination and spirit continue to live on in the people and community she impacted.
In her honor, her parents, Michael and Emily Strickland, established the Leah Strickland Scholarship Fund to support students at Herbert Hoover High School. To further celebrate her life and legacy, the annual Leah’s Legacy 5K was created. Through community support, sponsorships, and donations, the event helps fund scholarships each year while bringing people together in remembrance. The long-term goal is to grow the race into a destination event, expanding its reach and continuing to share Leah’s story with a wider audience.
