Leah Strickland was a caring and compassionate young girl. Always striving for perfection, she gave her all in everything she did. Her unrelenting drive for perfection not only transpired through her grades as an honors student at Herbert Hoover High School but in everything she set her mind to. This determination gave way to many sports accolades, including soccer, running, swimming, and travel. Now, this insurmountable determination lives on throughout those she survived by.
To honor Leah, her parents, Michael and Emily Strickland created the Leah Strickland Scholarship Fund for Herbert Hoover High School students. To cement her legacy in our hearts, a 5k run event is held in her honor. Through sponsorships and donations, the Stricklands can fund the Leah's Legacy scholarship and the 5k run every year. Each year, we hope to grow this race into one in which runners from across the country travel to participate. Further cementing Leah's Legacy and sharing her story with all.
