Leah’s Legacy exists to honor Leah’s life by bringing the Charleston community together and investing in the future of local students. Through our annual 5K Run, Walk, and Kids Fun Run, we create a space for remembrance, connection, and purpose—turning shared moments into meaningful impact. Every step taken and every dollar raised supports scholarships that empower young people to pursue their goals and carry Leah’s spirit of determination forward.

What began as a tribute has quickly grown into a powerful community tradition. Now entering its 4th annual event on September 13, 2026, at City Center at Slack Plaza, Leah’s Legacy has welcomed nearly 2,000 participants and raised over $100,000 in just a few years. This support has already funded $12,500 in scholarships for five local students, with plans to expand that impact each year. The event continues to grow, with more than 800 participants expected in 2026 for an evening centered on community, remembrance, and celebration.

Leah’s Legacy is driven by a dedicated group of family members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who work together to bring this event to life each year. From organizing a professionally timed 5K and community walk to coordinating kids’ activities, entertainment, vendors, and local partnerships, the team is committed to creating an event that reflects both excellence and heart. Their shared goal is simple: honor Leah in a way that brings people together and creates lasting impact for students and the Charleston community.
